Australian Shepherd

The Australian Shepherd, also known as The Aussie, is slightly longer than taller. Its identifying characteristics are the natural or docked bob tail and the recognized colours of blue merle, red merle, solid black, and solid red.

The Australian Shepherd is intelligent, attentive and shows great strength and stamina. They were initially bred to be a working dog; however is an exceptional companion as although an aggressive, authoritative worker, the Australian Shepherds are the complete opposite when it comes to people.

 

The height for males is 20-23 inches and females vary from 18-21 inches at the shoulder.
