Belgian Malinois

The Belgian Malinois, also known as the Malinois, Chien de Berger Belge was developed obviously in Belgian in 1891. They vary from 22 – 26 inches in height and normally weigh approximately 62 lbs. Its identifying colours are all shades of red, fawn, gray, with black overlap. Their coat is short hair.

Belgian Malinois are obedient and loyal if trained at a young age discouraging any aggressive tendencies. They are a perfect guard and watch dog but also great with a family. This breed needs a lot of exercise, especially off the leash if possible.

Belgian Malinois’s coat should be brushed regularly with a firm bristle brush and bathe only when necessary as bathing removes the waterproofing of their coat.
