Briard
The Briard is tough, brave, alert, and loyal. Their hair is long and wavy with a light undercoat of a variety of colours such as black, tawny and grey.
The Briard has a strong character, and is happiest leading a busy, active life. This big dog thinks for himself, so training may take patience. Like most sheepdogs, Briards are wary of strangers, canine or human.
With proper training and socialization, the Briard is a great pet that exists happily with other pets. However, it can be slightly aggressive toward other dogs, and is suspicious of strangers.
Weekly grooming with a brush and comb is required. The ears must also be kept clean.
Training must be firm and consistent, with much patience.
